Understanding the Create Segment window
Segment Details
Here you can set the name of the segment, as well as select the Contact Lists that you want to be included in this particular segment, e.g. only the contacts who booked at a specific property, or who signed up from a certain form.
Statistics
This section shows all the guests in your system that match your filters.
ⓘ If you see a Refresh Statistics option, it means you've updated your filters, so you will need to press this section to refresh the new statistics. |
Filters
This is where you can create any variation of filter that you require. You will see you can group filter options in "AND" groups, as well as combine groups with "OR" filters.
E.g. the above example shows that any customer that has spent more than 100 and is within 100km of the hotel will show. But any guest with a rate code of FLEX will show.
To add another AND filter, just press the button.
To add another OR group, just press the button.
You can delete a filter by pressing on the trash button.
How do Filters Work
You will see a filter is made up of 3 parts:

- Birthday
- Company
- Country
- E-mail address
- Gender
- Language
- Lifetime Room Spend
- Location
- Total Number of Nights Stayed
- Total Number of Stays
- E-mail Marketing
- Subscription Status

- Booking Channel
- Booking Date
- Booking Lead Time
- Check-in Date
- Check-out Date
- Market Code
- Rate Code
- Room Code
- Rate Average
- Source of Business
- Stay Date
- The comparison filter, e.g.:
- Equal to, not equal to, greater than, or less than for numeric data
- Contains, does not contain, is equal to, or is not equal to for text data
- Between dates, not between dates, between future or past dates, or in the last days for date data
- The search value, e.g. 100km for a location search
Future Stays
There may be e-mail campaigns that you don't want to send to guests who have a future stay booked, to ensure you have higher levels of engagement and fewer unsubscribes. In this case, you can just tick the box to enable this filter.
Once created, just click the Save button to store the filter, and it becomes available for all future campaigns.
