The Explainability tab helps you understand how different demand signals contribute to Revenue Intelligence forecasts by visualizing the key drivers behind projected demand and cancellations for a selected stay date.
This view focuses on what is influencing demand (for example, competitor pricing, holidays, events, and booking patterns), rather than providing a written explanation of the rate recommendation itself. A plain-language summary explaining why a rate change is suggested is available in the Opportunities tab.

ⓘ The Explainability tab is available to Revenue Intelligence subscribers and provides clear AI-generated explanations and demand driver visuals behind rate decisions. This tab isn’t exclusive to Pickup Reports. You can also access the same Explainability view from Opportunities > Rate Changes. |
What you can do:
- Review forecasted demand to understand rooms left to sell
Use the Forecasted Demand view to understand the hotel’s unconstrained demand and cancellation forecasts. This helps you identify:
- How many rooms are expected to be left to sell for the selected stay date.
- Whether the property may be overbooked based on the forecast.
- Understand which drivers are influencing the forecast
Use the AI Feature Importance section to see the key drivers contributing to forecasted demand and cancellations, compared to the average of the last 7 similar stay dates.
The tab highlights key categories of demand drivers that can influence recommendations (for example, competitor rates, holidays, and events).
FAQ
Does the AI explanation make pricing decisions?
No. The AI explanation does not make pricing decisions. Rate recommendations are generated by the Signals forecasting and pricing models. The Explainability view is designed to describe the key drivers behind those recommendations in a clear, human-readable way.
To learn how to review and accept rate change recommendations, see How to use the Rate Change recommendations.
Does the Explainability view show all factors used by the model?
No. The Explainability view highlights a selected set of the most influential demand drivers for the chosen date. Revenue Intelligence uses many signals and data points to generate forecasts and recommendations, but only the most relevant categories are displayed to keep the view clear and actionable.
Why do I see the message “Sorry, there is no data available. Please try selecting a different date” in the Explainability tab view?
This message appears when the selected date does not have any available rate recommendations or explainability data.
This can happen when:
- Revenue Intelligence does not have a rate recommendation for the selected date. The system only generates opportunities when it detects a meaningful pricing action.
- The property is still onboarding, and rate recommendations and explanations are not yet ready.
- There is not enough historical or forecast data available for that specific date.
